Getting ready to travel? Whether you’re flying domestic or international, healthy eating when you travel is always a good idea. Let’s face it, flying isn’t what it used to be. You’re lucky if they give you get a bag of peanuts. I have a nutrition tip that will ensure you have plenty of energy and stamina to make your flight more enjoyable (and a cure for jet lag). I suggest you drink some fresh vegetable/ fruit juice before you board the plane. It’s also a good idea to bring your own food such as sandwiches and healthy snacks. When traveling long distances you need to deal with jet lag. Dehydration is one of the symptoms of jet lag, and the dry, cabin air on the airplane doesn’t help. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water or juice. Try and avoid alcohol and caffeine if you want to avoid feeling jet lag.
Here’s my “Eating healthy when you travel” recipe (cut up vegetables and fruit and place in juicer):
1 pound carrots
1 pound celery
1 beet (peeled)
1 red apple
After drinking this, you will feel energetic and ready to take to the skies. This travel tip works for me. Eating healthy when you travel is always a good idea.
